The ‘Women In Africa’ conference is set to be held this Saturday, September 26, with Ugandan award-winning journalists Usher Komugisha and Nila Yasmin representing.

The FIBA and SuperSports journalist and the GLIM Co-founder will be taking part in the Media and Entertainment panel discussion on  the role of media and entertainment in challenging the narratives around women leadership,  at the one day Pan-African conference that will connect women from over 8 African countries across 6 different industries.

They will be joined by Forbes ’30 Under 30’ lists curator Karen Mwendera, former BET Head of Marketing and founder of Yithi Media House, Yithi Zulu, Chika Oduah, a journalist, poet, writer, documentary filmmaker and photographer whose work has been featured in The New York Times, Voice of America, The Guardian, The BBC, Al Jazeera, CNN, among others and  Nndivhaleni Netshiavhela an actress, theatre director and television journalist who has worked with Black Panther star Danai Gurira and in television production, across channels at Viacom International Media Networks including MTV, MTV Base, BET etc.

The panel will be hosted by emerging South African actress and TV presenter Mamodibe Ramodibe who has featured in popular TV productions on MTV and BET.

The ‘Women In Africa’ online conference has been organized by The Superwoman Hub, a Pan African platform founded by South African Venture Partner and women empowerment advocate Hope Ditlhakanyane, that aims to connect high impact women across Africa.
All proceeds from the event will go towards general fundraising efforts to launch a fund supporting women-owned businesses across Africa.
