The late Wangari Maathai,a professor and environmental political activist has been honored by France for her efforts to conserve the environment by naming a school after her .
The Nobel laucreate who has previously been honored across the globe now has a newly launched public elementary school situated in Aubervilliers area ,France ’’Ecole Wangari Maathai’’ named after her.
This has now gone down in history as one of the many honors bestowed on her ,including statue of her that was erected in the United State of America and a road in Kenya named after her.The celebrated nobel prize laureate who succumbed to ovarian cancer at Nairobi hospital in 2011 still has an impact on the world even after she is long gone.
