Revival Kemigisha is  a Communications & PR practitioner with 3 years’ practice in the field. ”I am humbled to have worked work with Ipsos and Dynapharm .While there, I ensured fluid communication both internal and external.”

Besides that, I own an Events Management Company called Oeuvre Events Ltd that has been in operation since March, 2016.

Oeuvre offers a number of services some of which are; wedding planning, decoration, catering, photography, videography and ushering.

I’ve had sessions of training by most of the Events Management gurus, but ultimately passion drew me to this. My heart is drawn to beauty, extra beautiful spaces, floral arrangements, candles and anything that portrays calmness and tranquility. I’m always searching for something unique, sentimental, boujee to give to my beloved patrons.

“I want something simple but beautiful.” A phrase that I’ve interfaced with the most in my Events Management career. Almost every client is working on a tight budget, yes, A TIGHT BUDGET!
For me it’s been a learning experience to have to offer a high quality service at the lowest of costs, having me inject in personal finances at a number of events. However, nothing beats the joy that overwhelms me when I see a smile on a client’s face, when what they envisioned has been manifested, and even surpassed.

So, one of the FAQs is, how can I have my dream wedding with minimum resources?
Here are a few key pointers you can look into to help you achieve your dream wedding/event.

  1. Consult a wedding planner and if possible, let them handle your wedding
It’s not common practice in Uganda for couples to trust wedding planners but this is one thing that’ll lift a whole load off your shoulders. Most times, wedding planners have discounts from service providers which in the long run help you achieve your dream. These need to be engaged early enough, preferably one year before the wedding date. It’s good to work with enough time rather than rush through everything at the last minute.

  2. Book Early
    In the event that you decide to run everything as a couple or the wedding committee, ensure you book service providers early enough. The best service providers get booked first. Usually companies give offers and discounts in particular seasons for particular reasons;
    I). Sometimes it’s a give back
II). Sometimes it’s to give chance to as many prospective clients as possible to book before they get too busy
III). Sometimes it’s to close as many deals as possible to hit targets, but whatever the case, I fully advise that you keep your ears to the ground for such offers because they usually come in handy.
In the event that there are no favorable offers for you, booking a service provider early gives you the advantage of bargaining. Imagine booking for a wedding in December of 2020, and you book in January, you can negotiate for a 30% discount which will help you have a quality service at a low price.
  3. Savor your options
The saying “when you rush, you crush” can never be ignored in this aspect. Please take enough time to weigh all your options. Don’t rush to commit to any service providers, look at who is offering you the best service at the least charge. However, this can be double sided, there’s a great risk of falling into an amateur’s hands because you’re trying too hard to spend the least. Apply wisdom, do your research well, and use the best candidate. When you find the perfect service provider, make your first deposit. This ensures that your date is reserved and material for your wedding is consolidated.

  4. Clear 100% of your dues
Many clients are tempted to think that if they clear to zero balance the service provider may not deliver. WRONG! If you’re using a trusted brand, and they have built reputation in the market, trust them to deliver. Chances are high that since the budget is low they have minimal profit therefore if the client delays to finish up with the payments, it builds negative energy within the service provider which may be seen in the substandard work. Ensure you fully pay up as regards the terms and conditions of your service provider. Also ensure that whatever deposit you make is receipted.
  5. Lastly, be hopeful and pray
Prayer moves mountains. Believe that you’ll have the best wedding with whatever resources are present. Don’t stress or panic. Whatever you’re not able to have on your wedding, you can always have for your one year anniversary, silver jubilee, golden jubilee or even 2 year anniversary.
What I’m saying here is don’t put a rope in your neck, there’s life after your wedding.
