Uganda, a rapidly emerging middle-income country, owes much of its economic growth to its entrepreneurial women. Despite their significant contributions, many remain outside the formal business sector and lack the financial and technical support needed to scale their businesses and capitalize on trade opportunities such as the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
In the face of these challenges, Immy Nakyeyune was inspired start Mkazipreneur in 2018. Based in Uganda’s capital Kampala, the enterprise support organization is harnessing the power of community to help women entrepreneurs formalize their businesses, get investment-ready, and thrive in both domestic and regional markets.
