Nadia Matovu Selected For Meta’s ‘Creators Of Tomorrow’ Global Campaign

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram has launched a new global campaign ‘Creators of Tomorrow’ that celebrates emerging talent from around the world who are inspiring a new movement of creative content online.

In Africa, 10 creators have been selected from Southern Africa, East Africa and Francophone West Africa for their role in championing key creator territories from art, dance, music, fashion, beauty, well-being and business.

“The Creators of Tomorrow have exciting careers ahead of them. They have been selected because they’re breaking out amongst their communities online, and showcase a best-in-class approach to video formats, technology and interactive entertainment — creative qualities we believe will be integral to the evolution of the metaverse.” Moon Baz, Creator Partnerships Lead, Middle East, Africa and Turks for Meta said during a press briefing.

Ugandan entrepreneur and Digital Content Creator Nadia Matovu made it to the list. According to Meta, through key brand partnerships and her mini Reels series called “Luxurious Uganda”, Nadia is shifting the narrative and perception of Uganda and Africa.

Nadia says this opportunity is a huge milestone for her journey as a content creator and reaffirms her commitment to showcasing the beauty of her country with the aid of the continuous innovation of social media technology.
“I want to inspire people to learn about Uganda, to visit Uganda, and to know that as a country we have so much to offer.”

The ‘Creators of Tomorrow’ from Africa also include:

  1. Kwambox from Kenya
  2. Crazy Kennar from Kenya
  3. Pamela Mtanga from South Africa
  4. Ruth Ronnie from Zambia
  5. Ruvarashe Hapaguti from Zimbabwe
  6. Mishaa from the Ivory Coast
  7. Saraï D’Hologne from the Ivory Coast
  8. Fatou Jupiter Touré from Senegal, and
  9. Ngorbatchev Niang from Senegal.

In November, the selected ‘Creators of Tomorrow’ creators will convene at this year’s Meta Creator Week, hosted at the iconic Tate Modern in London. They will be joined by other regional Creators at various stages of their careers to collaborate, learn from each other, and continue to find inspiration in the future of content creation on our platforms.
